lay something to heart 铭记在心；耿耿于怀

源出《圣经*传道书》第七章第二节：“活人也必将把这事放在心上。” (The living will lay it to his heart.) 另外，莎士比亚在《麦克白》第一幕第五场中也说：“把它放在你的心头。” (Lay it to thy heart.)

例：To do Alice justice, though she listens to such lessons she  does not lay them to heart as she might. 公平对待爱丽丝吧！ 虽然她听过这些课以后，未能像她本来可能做到的那样，把功课牢记在心。
